its history will still be educating people in its
new life at Channel Islands Harbor. The “Bill
of Rights” is now docked at Channel Islands,
where it will serve as a floating classroom for
at-risk youths and intervention programs.

Ballet company brings modern

robber of about $2,000 May 19 at an Arco
gas station on Ventura Road at Wooley
Road. Three suspects dragged the victim to
the alley behind the business, where he
was victim multiple times in the shoulder
and neck. They took about $2,000 from the
victim and fled in a dark-colored, 4-door
sedan.

B&G Club cuts ribbon for native plant
garden
Members of The Boys & Girls Club of
Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme planted
a native garden for the community at the
Oxnard Club. Members and staff will be
monitoring the seasonal schedule of the
native plants while gaining hands-on
learning experience with pollination, soil
ecology, food webs, climate change and
more.

Stamp Out Hunger! collects 100,000
pounds of food
More than 100,000 pounds of food and
groceries were donated to FOOD Share
during Stamp Out Hunger, the one-day food
drive conducted May 9 by Ventura County
letter carriers. Donations were collected
from homes across Ventura County by
Letter Carriers and delivered to FOOD
Share.
