As part of the Celebrate Safe Communities initiative, the Oxnard Police
Department has organized its Crime Prevention Fair to show it makes
crime prevention a priority from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 3 in the parking lot
adjacent to Ralph’s Supermarket, 3443 Saviers Road.

Trash pickup, wildlife tour set Oct. 10 for J Street Drain

A trash pickup aimed at eliminating some of the trash flow into the Ormond
Beach Wetlands will be held in the J Street Drain from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 10. Participants will meet in the parking lot at 869 W.
Hueneme Road. A pre-event Ormond Beach Wildlife Tour will be
conducted at 9 a.m.

Gallatin-Gonzales intersection closed Oct. 11
Oxnard report that at 8:22 a.m. Oct. 11 a vehicle collided with a power pole
near the intersection of Gonzales Road and Gallatin Place in north Oxnard .
Due to concerns with overhead power lines, Gonzales Road from Gallatin
Place to Ventura Road will be closed until further notice while Edison crews
assess the situation. It is estimated the road closure will be in effect until
late into the evening Oct. 11.
