| Pilot ends publication |
| To our readers: We regret to announce that the Hueneme Pilot has ceased publication effective immediately. During the past several weeks, we have been examining options for continuing, but we have concluded it would be too challenging financially to continue. Although the Pilot had actually been growing in recent months in terms of circulation and number of advertisers, during these difficult economic times many of our advertisers have been unable to meet their financial obligations. As a result, the Pilot was caught in the crunch. We had hoped to overcome that situation by closing for a couple of issues to reorganize. However, that has not happened. We at the Hueneme Pilot thank our readers and advertisers in Port Hueneme and Oxnard for their support during the past 18 months. It was a pleasure serving our communities.
